An Update on Improvements of the Site

Hi everyone! I wanted to write a post about my new addition to selling my art.

Many of you have been emailing me regarding any interest you’ve had in purchasing my work and some of you that have shared it several times over the social networks have asked me how do they go about purchasing the artwork. I’ve been thinking about this for some time but only did it really hit me when Audrey Petegem mentioned ETSY. Thank you, Audrey!!

On my paintings for sale, there will be a BUY NOW button that will take you directly to the ETSY store to purchase the painting.

Being an artist can have its limitations all around. First you have to find out what kind of artist you want to be. Do you want to be an artist that does it for the money, or do you want to do it only for yourself? What do you want to gain out of being an artist? What kind of reputation do you want?

I’ve been asked those questions several times, and all I can say is: One of my biggest dreams is to one day hold a private auction in a gallery filled with my artwork, with all proceeds going towards a charity of my choice. Dressed in an elegant black dress and pearls, I meet collectors from around the world wanting to know what I was feeling or expressing in my paintings.

(sigh) What a dreamer I am. Lol. I am (counting fingers and toes) 34 years old and I feel like I’m too late to really be considered an artist. If I had known I had this much fun with this, then I would have gone to all the art classes in college instead of Criminal law. It’s sad to me that I am finally finding myself and I feel like I’m so late in doing so. Do you ever feel that way?

I refuse to let this stop me. I am going to continue doing what I love and hopefully one day be recognized for my passions. Does that sound conceited? I’m running the risk of that either way.

It’s fun to see what others feel when it comes to artwork. I’ve had a few people comment on the nudity of my paintings and ask why it is that I enjoy painting nude women. It has nothing to do with nudity or anything sexual, although some may perceive that upon seeing it for the first time. I paint nudity because I feel the empowering nature of a woman. We may be considered “the weaker sex,” but we are goddesses. We have so much more influence than many give us credit. We are women, a species ruled by compassion, empathy, as well as a nurturing, protective nature …. and the ability to be your worst enemy. 😉

We aren’t the weakest sex in the term of not being able to take care of ourselves. Yet, we are to be treated delicately, appreciated and treasured because if you don’t, you’ll learn to love the sofa. Lol.

Anyways, please send your critiques my way, and if you have anything to add to your experiences to reaching  your goals and any obstacles that you’ve had to overcome or are still trying to make it through, send them as well.

  1. Adrianna, you are never too old to start fresh. My husband is a prime example of this. He is 38 and just went back to school to get his Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy. He has spent the last decade working in research and discovered it was not what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Prior to that he was in college from 1995-2004 earning a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees. When he is finished with his doctoral program and will actually be out practicing as an OT he will be over 40 yrs old. Never sell yourself short, 34 is the perfect time to take stock on what you want to do with your life 🙂

    • That is a perfect example. Thank you for sharing that. Im so so proud of you both. That takes a lot of dedication from both of you. Im laughed at sometimes by my family when I say i want to be an artist or a writer. It seems so far fetched. I enjoy it so much and would enjoy it much more if i could find a way to help others alpng the way…. Once i find the secret. Lol
